Questions, answered.
What is Trava?+
Trava is a travel app that pulls the practical parts of a trip into one place: city guides with the facts you need on arrival, Cita (an assistant that knows the city you're asking about), real-time Rooms to plan with the people you're travelling with, a day-by-day Canvas, an offline document vault, live flight tracking, and trip finance.
Is Trava a web app or a mobile app?+
Both. The web app at trava.life runs in any modern browser, and the mobile apps (App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore) bring the same account with you on the road.
What can Cita help with?+
Cita is a travel assistant that knows the specific city you're asking about — neighbourhood-level recommendations, walking routes that avoid the crowds, quiet spots, what's actually open — not generic tourist facts. You can also hand Cita a goal ('a relaxed first day near the old town') and it researches and builds a plan.
How do Rooms work?+
A Room is a real-time shared space for one trip. Invite your travel companions with a link, chat, and everyone sees the same up-to-date trip details, Canvas and checklist as they change — no more screenshots in a group chat.
What is the Canvas?+
A day-by-day plan for the trip. Add stops, reorder them by dragging, and Trava keeps the timing sensible. Cita can seed a Canvas from a goal, and missions turn a researched plan into real Canvas stops.
What is the Document Vault?+
An encrypted store for passports, visas, IDs, bookings and insurance that works offline, so the documents you need at a border or a check-in desk are available even with no signal. You choose what goes in it.
Is my document data actually private?+
Documents in the Vault are encrypted and stored against your account only — Trava can't read them, and they're not shared with Room members unless you explicitly share a specific item. You can delete any document, and your whole account, from Settings.
How accurate is the flight tracking?+
Flight status, gate, terminal and baggage-claim come from a live aviation data feed and update through the day. As with any flight data, the airport's own displays are the final word in the last hour before departure.
Does Trava work offline?+
The Document Vault, your saved trips, the Canvas and city staples are available offline. Cita, live flight data, Rooms sync and search need a connection.
What's included on the Free plan?+
5 Cita queries a day (150 a month) at no cost, plus City Explorer, Rooms, the Document Vault, Canvas, flight tracking and trip finance. The Explorer and Family plans raise the Cita limit and add headroom.
What do the paid plans add?+
More Cita queries, larger Rooms, and family-sharing on the Family plan. The current limits and prices are on the Pricing page.
How do credits work?+
Credits are a one-time top-up for extra Cita queries beyond your plan's limit. They never expire and stack with any active subscription.
Can I cancel any time?+
Yes, from Settings, effective at the end of your current billing period. If you're in the EU/EEA you can request a full refund within 14 days of your first paid period unless you've already started using premium features — see the Refund Policy for the exact terms.
Can I use Trava with my family or a group?+
Yes. Rooms are built for travelling together, and the Family plan adds shared access so household members aren't each paying separately. For a one-off group trip, a single Room invite is enough.
Which cities does Trava cover?+
City Explorer works for destinations worldwide, with the depth of local detail strongest in major and well-travelled cities. Cita can answer for effectively anywhere, drawing on what it knows about that place.
Can Trava book flights or hotels for me?+
No. Trava plans, tracks and organises the trip — it doesn't sell flights or accommodation. You book through your usual channels and keep the confirmations in the Vault.
How does Trip Finance work?+
You set a daily budget and log spending as you go; Trava tracks the running total against the budget so you can see mid-trip whether you're on track, by category.
Is there a packing checklist?+
Yes — Trip Readiness is a checklist organised by category that you can tick off before you leave, shared inside a Room so a group isn't all packing the same power adapter and none of the first-aid kit.
What's the Journal for?+
A place to log the trip as it happens, photos included — a lightweight record you actually keep, rather than meaning to write it up afterwards and never doing it.
How do I get help?+
Email [email protected] — average response under four hours, seven days a week — or use the Support page.
